Born in Milan, Andrea Dieci graduated "cum laude" with special distinction at the "G.Verdi" Conservatory of Milan. He has studied with Oscar Ghiglia at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena and at the Musikakademie in Basle, Switzerland. Moreover, he has attended masterclasses with Julian Bream. First Prize winner at the International Competitions of Gargnano Lagonegro (dedicated to 20th century guitar music) and Cosenza, Andrea Dieci has performed extensively for prestigious music societies all over Europe, in the USA, Central and South America, Africa and Asia. He has played concerts within world-famous events such as the Spoleto Festival of Two Worlds, the Festival of the Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) and the Singapore International Festival. Recently he made his début in Tokyo at Dai-Ichi Seimei Hall, followed by a long tour of Japan. Dieci's performances have been broadcast by major radio and TV companies including Italian Radio-Television (RAI), Radio Nacional Española, the BBC and Euroradio. His several CDs, released under MAP Golden, Bèrben and Nuova Era labels, have been highly praised by music magazines all over the world. His double CD dedicated to the complete works for solo guitar by Toru Takemitsu (MAP Golden, 2004) was awarded the "Golden Guitar" Prize at the X International Guitar Congress of Alessandria (Italy) as the best CD of the year and has been presented on RAI – Italian Radio-Television. His last double CD, dedicated to the complete works for solo guitar by Heitor Villa-Lobos, was released in 2009 under "Maestro" label to mark the 50th Anniversary of the composer's death. Andrea Dieci currently teaches at the "G. Regondi" Guitar Academy in Milan and at the Istituto Musicale "C. Monteverdi" in Cremona. He has presented masterclasses and seminars at important music institutions in Italy, France, Spain, UK, Greece, Brazil, Mexico, USA, Singapore and Japan.
